Reunion Records welcomes southern California rock band
Daily Planet to its artist roster. The debut album from Daily Planet,
entitled Hero, is slated to release to the CBA market on August 20, 2002.
Forming at Azusa Pacific University (APU) in southern California in 1997,
Daily Planet is Jesse Butterworth (lead vocals/guitars), Seth Davis (bass),
Danny Lund (drums) and Bobby Reinsch (lead guitar).
Butterworth and Davis formed Daily Planet while taking music classes
together, adding Seth’s hometown acquaintance, Lund, on drums. The trio
played for the first time at an open mic night at Azusa in April 1997.
Coming back to APU after summer break, and still in need of a lead
guitarist, Daily Planet found and offered Reinsch the job.
“This band has it all, great songwriting, talented musicians and a
high-energy live show that leaves people breathless. I can’t wait for
people to experience what we’ve been living with in our CD players these
past months,” says Dean Diehl, Sr. VP/general manager of Reunion Records.
Daily Planet’s debut album Hero captures its modern rock/pop sound
reminiscent of bands like Jars of Clay, Dave Matthews Band, Lifehouse,
matchbox twenty and Creed. Jesse and Seth wrote a concert favorite, “The
Coffee Song,” the first time they sat down together, and have since wrote or
co-wrote each song on the debut album.
Already having 300 dates under their belt, Daily Planet will continue
performing summer dates that include Agape Festival, Faith Fest, Alive Fest,
Atlanta Fest, Sonshine Fest, Spirit West Coast, Inside Out Soul Fest and
Rock the Universe, placing them in front of over 500,000 people by the end
of summer.
