Rebecca St. James to perform in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

Grammy Award-winning ForeFront recording artist Rebecca St. James is scheduled to perform a June 2
concert at Spartak Stadium in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, in conjunction with a missionary outreach of The People’s Church (First Baptist
Church) in Franklin, Tennessee. The event, sponsored by New Life Bishkek, RC Cola and Pinara Hotel, is anticipated to draw more
than 8,000 people.
Also while in Bishkek, St. James is slated to perform a concert for government officials, embassy workers, business leaders and
Deans of various universities with proceeds going to the Center For The Rehabilitation Of Children And The Orphanage For
Babies. In addition, she will perform for area students at the Seitek youth center.
During the trip, St. James will visit Chu-Tokmak Boarding School #36 in conjunction with the National Day of Protection Of
“I am very excited to see what God is going to do through our trip to Kyrgyzstan,” said St. James. “It is the first time that my band
and I have been on a mission trip like this together. To me, it is thrilling to be a part of something that is so groundbreaking in a
community where a Christian concert is virtually unheard of. Please pray for our Kyrgyzstan adventure.”
St. James’ visit to Kyrgyzstan marks her ninth journey to Europe since 1999. European concert appearances and festival
performances have taken St. James to Sweden, Holland, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Romania, Germany, Belgium, Denmark,
Norway and Ireland.
St. James’ fifth ForeFront recording, Transform, released last fall and includes “Don’t Worry,” which remained #1 on The CCM
Update’s CHR Top 20 chart for six consecutive weeks. “In Me” and “Reborn,” the album’s current singles are presently in the Top
5 on The CCM Update’s Adult Contemporary and CHR charts, respectively.
