Rebecca St. James Joins The Presidential Prayer Team

Grammy Award winning ForeFront recording artist, Rebecca St. James has been given the unprecedented honor of becoming the youngest member of The Presidential Prayer Team’s prestigious Honorary Committee.
St. James, 24, joins the ranks of Franklin Graham and an array of top national leaders in accepting the honor, and committing her efforts to encourage America towards prayer–prayer for the President, his Cabinet, and the nation.
She was presented the plaque commemorating the honor by a team of founding members of the organization onstage during a recent concert performance in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Presidential Prayer Team is a non profit, non partisan initiative that’s already found the support of more than one million Americans committed to the cause of the organization’s mission statement. That mission: ultimately enlisting 1% of the American population, or 2.8 million people, committed to pray daily for our nation and its leadership.
Unique to the selection of Rebecca St. James as a part of the Presidential Prayer Team Honorary Committee is not only her age, but the fact she’s Australian.
She and her family moved to America in 1991 and she has since become one of the most influential artists in Christian music.
“Rebecca St. James has incredible influence with young America, and we are thrilled that she would use that influence to encourage young people to pray for our leaders and our nation on a daily basis,” noted the organization’s founder, renowned American sculptor, William Hunter.
Central to the music career of Rebecca St. James is her unique blend of music and ministry. Her self penned song “Wait For Me,” an anthem to abstinence, became a #1 hit in 2001, and produced an avalanche of response from both young people and their parents, in support of her stand. So great was the response, in fact, that St. James has been considered the torchbearer of the abstinence message in the Christian music field, encouraging the message to her young fans from stages all over the world. She is currently nominated for eight “Dove Awards,” the Christian industry’s highest honor. The Dove Awards, presented by the Gospel Music Association, will be telecast April 25th from Nashville by PAX-TV.
