Randy Travis

Randy Travis’ country gospel offering “Rise And Shine” made an impressive street week debut
with over 9,000 total combined sales, securing the #2 spot on the SoundScan Top Christian Country Albums chart as well as the #8
listing on the Top Current Contemporary Christian Albums chart (mainstream/Christian sales).
Country superstar Randy Travis is just back from a 10-city nationwide promotional where over 40,000 fans turned out to church
performances. While on the tour, Travis had the opportunity to play the new songs of “Rise And Shine” as well as share his personal
testimony of faith to both longtime fans and first time listeners.
With strong retail sales and touring in motion, radio and media are coming alongside with a momentum of their own. On the radio front,
the first single going to Country radio format is “Three Wooden Crosses” as well as “Rise And Shine” being released to the Southern
Gospel radio format stations. Media-wise, both Christian and mainstream campaigns are in place. Country Music Television (CMT)
recently aired a one-hour special on Travis as part of the “Inside Fame” series. Major television appearances are being confirmed for
the upcoming months. Travis was also a special musical guest on Dr. Billy Graham’s crusade at the Texas Stadium on October 18th.
The event is being web-cast from October 24, 2002 – November 20, 2002 at www.billygraham.com.
The Rise And Shine recording is a first with Word Records (Warner Bros. Records Christian Division). Travis comes to Warner Bros. in
part through his association with label president Barry Landis. While serving as Atlantic Christian vice-president and general manager,
Landis worked closely with Travis on Inspirational Journey, a collection of gospel songs released by Warner Bros./Atlantic in 2000.
For 16 years Travis has been a dominant force in country music. The first country artist to break the multi-platinum sales barrier, he has
sold more than 21 million albums and received three Grammys, five Country Music Assn. Awards, eight Academy of Country Music
Awards, and ten American Music Awards. Travis also heralds two Dove Awards, the Gospel Music Association’s highest honor, in the
Country Recorded Song category for “Baptism” and also Bluegrass Album of the Year. Both of these accolades were earned with his
Inspirational Journey release on Warner Bros/Atlantic. Travis is also an actor and has appeared in over 20 television movies for tv and
theater. He recently made a guest appearance on Nickelodeon’s “Blues Clues” along with narrating a handful of children’s books.
Warner Bros. Records Christian Division, a division of Word Entertainment, a Warner/Curb company, is home to both the Word and
Squint record labels. The artist roster heralds some of today’s top Christian music performers and songwriters including Amy Grant,
Point of Grace, Jaci Velasquez, Sixpence None The Richer, Sandi Patty, Rachael Lampa, Nicole C. Mullen and Mark Schultz. Warner
Bros. Records Christian Division and its distributor Word Distribution lead the industry with over fifty years of music making history.
