Randy Travis on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Country superstar Randy Travis joined forces with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to help the Elcanos family get a brand new Bakersfield home and raise $60,000 for the kids college funds.   The show will be airing on Sunday, November 21 on the ABC Television Network (8:00 – 9:00 p.m., ET/PT.)    Travis will release his new CD, Passing Through, featuring the single “Four Walls” on Tues. Nov. 9.
Glen and Jennifer Elcano were living their dream, they used to spend practically 24 hours a day together operating their small family farm in Bakersfield, California.  He would harvest feed and hay while she drove the bale truck behind him.  Then one fateful day, Glen was driving home from making a delivery when a car accident killed him instantly.  Now, Jennifer and her two young children are barely managing the farm on their own. She and the kids have hardly had time to mourn Glen’s death, must less keep the farm running and make repairs to their small 100-year-old dilapidated farmhouse.
Travis’ new single, “Four Walls,” which is performed during the set at the Elcano fundraiser during the show, is coincidently about a simpler time on the farm when “Four walls, three words, two hearts and one love” were all anyone needed.  “Four Walls” is the first single from Randy’s new Word/Curb/Warner Bros. The new country CD will be released on November 9th, the same day that Randy will be a presenting Album of the Year with CSI Miami star Emily Procter on the Country Music Association Awards; a CBS Television Network primetime special (8 p.m. – 11 p.m., ET/PT).
In conjunction with the Grammys and in support of music education in America’s public schools, Randy has designed an artistic rendition of the Grammy logo that is currently appearing on all A&W Root Beer cans and available wherever A & W product is sold.  For his participation, 7Up/A&W have made a donation in his name to Grammy Signature Schools—a program that recognizes public high schools around the U. S. that have made an outstanding commitment to music education.  In addition, Randy has donated a signed official Grammy telecast jacket to a special eBay auction.  For more information, please visit www.grammyfoundation.com.
For 19 years, Randy Travis has been a dominant voice in country music, equally popular has been Travis’ role as a pioneer in the new traditionalist movement. Randy emerged on the music scene bringing back a classic sound to country with his quadruple-platinum 1986 debut, Storms of Life.  During Travis’ career, he has garnered four Grammy Awards, five Country Music Association Awards, nine Academy of Country Music Awards, 10 American Music Awards and five Dove Awards.  On September 29 Randy received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Randy balances a full-time music career with a well-respected acting career. In addition to many guest appearances on TV’s “Touched By An Angel,” his film credits include “The Rainmaker” (starring Jon Voight, Matt Damon), “Frank and Jessie” (Bill Paxton and Rob Lowe), “Black Dog” (Patrick Swayze), “Fire Down Below” (Steven Seagal) and the Miramax/Dimension film “Texas Rangers.”  For more information about Randy Travis, please visit RandyTravis.com.
