Provident Music Mini-Video Interactive Unit

Mini-Video Interactive Unit Inaugural Promotion Takes Retail by Storm
As Provident Music Distribution continues the success of its sales initiatives with its retail partners, the distribution team has developed a unique and focused selling tool, the MinVid.
This simple, but engaging interactive unit is equipped with a high-quality LCD screen and a 12-selection touch pad. Each unit features endcap slat-wall brackets and headphones with adjustable volume control. These elements make the MinVid the most space-saving, cost effective and efficient interactive unit on the market (see graphic attached).
“The beauty of this unit is that it is specifically designed to enhance the distribution-wide promotional initiatives that have been laid out to our retailers for the rest of 2002 and into next year as well,” states Tim Marshall, senior director of marketing for Provident Music Distribution. “The simplicity of the unit allows our retailers to merchandise their endcaps more effectively while providing the customer with informative video in conjunction with the featured titles on the individual promotions.”
Provident has received overwhelming feedback from retailers across the industry in support of the new MinVid . Richard Coleman of Cedar Springs Christian Store in Knoxville, Tenn., comments, “This is a great unit. We wish we could have one on every end-cap! It takes up less space and there is more room to place product on the end-cap. We think this unit is awesome!”
Randy Davis, vice president of CBA sales for the distribution company, notes, “Provident Music Distribution launched the inaugural placement of the MinVid in conjunction with the With Open Hands – Artists in Worship premium promotion. This promotion has not only met but exceeded our expectations by securing top positioning, thereby moving 100,000 units in over 1,300 CBA stores in just one month.”
The nine-song premium CD, which includes worship songs by Michael W. Smith, Jars of Clay, Third Day, Caedmon’s Call, By The Tree and Bebo Norman, is free with the purchase of any one of six promoted titles, which include Michael W. Smith’s Worship (Reunion Records); City On A Hill – Songs Of Worship And Praise (Essential Records); City On A Hill – Sing Alleluia (Essential Records); Third Day’s Offerings (Essential Records); Caedmon’s Call’s In The Company Of Angels (Essential Records); and the Parachute Band’s Amazing (Worship Extreme).
The With Open Hands-Artists In Worship premium promotion, coupled with the MinVid interactive unit, further establishes the promotional success that Provident’s retail partners have come to expect. Davis announces, “We have seen an average lift of 47 percent in CBA scans for each promoted title from the first four weeks of the promotion versus the previous four. Based on these numbers, we anticipate our retailers to see their sales double for each promoted title.”
Provident Music Distribution will feature upcoming promotions on the MinVid unit including: 20 Years of Reunion Records (May/June); Sizzlin’ Summer CD Sale (July/August); Above the Noise 2002 – Phase 1 (Sept/October); Above the Noise 2002 – Phase 2 with seasonal graphics (Nov/Dec); and Above the Noise Gospel (Jan/Feb 2003).
