Whether Garnets of magnificent beauty
that warm you like
a roaring fire
on a cold winter night
~
Or the seemingly flawless beauty
of Diamonds – so breathtaking
like the morning sun in spring
This April jewel perfect to the naked eye
~
Or Emeralds which radiate luster
in the summer sunlight
~
Or Pearls, the milky white jewel
of October with their subdued beauty
and dulling shine
~
Or Rubies, a cousin of the Garnet
also a stone of firey radiance
and crimson delight
~
Or Sapphires, the September stone
of striking brilliance
One cannot resist the suggested images
of a stroll through autumn’s splendor
–
While its true these gems are beautiful
Still more radiant
than all these gems combined
Even more luminous than the Hope Diamond
