Christian music mainstay and perennial sweetheart—award-winning artist Bonnie Keen—released her latest self-titled album in late 2025. The release boasts eight original, new, self-penned songs along with four cover tunes—including duets and collaborations with some of Christian music’s most respected musicians and producers. One song holds a special place in Keen’s heart: a heartfelt “Valentine” dedicated to her grandbabies.

“On my new self-titled album, I wanted to write a song—a ‘Valentine’ for my two grand babes. Anna and Wyatt are 3 and 4 years old and have grown my heart into places I never imagined possible,” Keen explains. “When they were born, it was as if chambers of love opened up that I never knew existed. I am utterly smitten and in love with them.”

“Of course, I want them to know how much I adore them. More importantly, I pray every day for them to know the love of God. How well I know that as life unfolds in various directions, it is God’s love that lavishes grace over every season through His Son, His heart, and in Christ.”

She continues, “I wanted to write a song they could listen to at any age—a song that would remind them of God’s immovable presence when life hits a wall and when their hearts break along the way.”

“‘God Will Love You’ is a simple song with an eternal message:

God will love you when the sun does rise

He will smile right into your eyes

He will hold you when a tear breaks through

God will listen and will cry with you

God will love you as the world spins round

God will love you when the sun goes down”

I’ve been deeply pleased and surprised by how this song is also resonating in the hearts of adults—those who have lost someone dear to them or those who need a reminder of the greatest love story of all. I hope it is a Valentine for Anna and Wyatt, but also a love song for anyone who hears it. Every love story begins with God’s relentless and passionate love for His people.

Bonnie Keen is a Dove Award–winning recording artist, author, and speaker, best known as a founding member of the Grammy-nominated trio First Call.

In addition to her acclaimed work with First Call and her solo recordings, her versatile voice has graced countless studio sessions across musical genres. She has shared the stage on major tours with artists such as Amy Grant, Sandi Patty, Young Messiah, BeBe and CeCe Winans, and The Music of Whitney Houston, among others. Keen’s television credits include performances on the Country Music Association Awards, the Grammy Awards, and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.

Beyond music, she has pursued theatrical roles with Studio Tenn and the Nashville Shakespeare Festival. Keen has also partnered with the human rights organization Christian Solidarity International (CSI) to raise awareness about the ongoing persecution of Christians worldwide. She narrates the one-minute radio feature “Persecution Today,” which spotlights specific countries facing severe challenges, including recent reports of mass kidnappings and martyrdom. The sheer scale of modern-day persecution has been profoundly eye-opening to her, fueling her commitment to advocacy.

Her fourth solo project—the deeply personal, self-titled album Bonnie Keen—was released in November 2025 following a season of personal trials and industry shifts. Produced by Larry Hall, it represents a return to her roots while pushing creative boundaries, including an ambitious a cappella arrangement of Sting’s “If I Ever Lose My Faith” (with Keen handling all vocals as a nod to her First Call harmonies), the heartfelt grandbabies’ song “God Will Love You,” the anti-human-trafficking anthem “Cry Like A Bell,” and “Gethsemane Brave,” which reflects on suffering and faith. The album is now available on all major streaming platforms.

Keen will be appearing at the upcoming NRB 2026 International Christian Media Convention in Nashville (February 17–20), the world’s largest gathering of Christian communicators, where she’ll connect with radio broadcasters and industry leaders amid her recent album release and ongoing advocacy work.
