Best selling Howard Publishing author and senior pastor of Christ Community Church
(Franklin, Tenn.), Scotty Smith, will release his fourth book, The Reign of Grace: The Delights and Demands of God’s Love,
March 4.
As Scotty Smith’s critically acclaimed 2001 book, Objects of His Affection, gives readers a breakthrough understanding of God’s
grace, The Reign of Grace promises to challenge readers to consider what it means to be stewards of God’s grace. Smith writes
humbly and honestly about the relationship between God’s astonishing love for us and its radical implications for how we live the
rest of our lives in “worship service” to him.
“To receive God’s grace in Christ is to be bought into a revolutionary reign, not ushered into a quiet rest home!” writes Smith in
The Reign of Grace. “God’s love is as disruptive as it is delightful, as demanding as it is delicious! God loves us exactly as we
are today, but he loves us too much to leave us as we are and where we are…We who have been made objects of God’s tender
affection have also been made subjects in his transforming kingdom, servants of the era of ‘new creation,’ participants in the reign of
grace.”
Smith continues his personal and passionate journey with The Reign of Grace following his best selling book, Objects of His
Affection. Objects also garnered endorsements from well-known and respected personalities such as best-selling author Peter
Jenkins, Jars of Clay lead vocalist Dan Haseltine, Covenant Theological Seminary president Bryan Chapell and many others.
“Through his leadership at Christ Community Church and his well-received prior book projects, Scotty has become widely known
as a gifted communicator and teacher,” says Denny Boultinghouse, Howard Publishing executive editor. “We are excited to be able
to help bring Scotty’s next message of grace to an even broader audience.”
Smith also co-authored Speechless in 1999 with Steven Curtis Chapman to coincide with the release of Chapman’s now
Platinum-selling recording, Speechless, as well as Unveiled Hope in 1997 with recording artist/author Michael Card.
Smith, who holds an M.A. in New Testament Studies from Westminster Theological Seminary and did his undergraduate studies at
the University of North Carolina, also founded Christ Community Church along with his wife, Darlene, and five other couples. The
church is seeking to live out the transforming power and wonder of the gospel in the growing community of Franklin, Tennessee,
and has been featured by such well-known media as ABC’s Prime Time Live.
