It’s expected to be one of the largest Easter celebrations of a local congregation. Dubbed “Resurrection Sunday”, on April 16, 2006 at 11 a.m. Pastor Orim M. Meikle (pronounced OR-UM ME-KUL) and Rhema (Ray-MA) Christian Ministries will gather at Mississauga’s Hershey Centre 5500 Rose Cherry Place to celebrate one of the most significant holidays on the Christian Calendar.
At least 5-thousand people are expected to gather, including Rhema’s own congregation, invited local politicians such as mayor of Mississauga Hazel McCallion as well as those from the surrounding GTA. Radio host of Newstalk 1010 CFRB “The Pastor Orim Meikle Show” and an outspoken voice on issues of gangs, guns and violence on our city streets, Pastor Meikle says the focus of any celebration, especially Easter, should be on the family, “Though we as Christians view this day as the day we believe our Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected, I also believe that with everything happening in our city especially over the last few months, we should view this day as a time to also focus on and celebrate family as well as our community.”
Musical guests will include, Genre Recording artists “Rhema Worship and Praise”, Singer/songwriter Kevin Pauls, a special theatrical presentation and of course a spoken word delivered by Pastor Orim M. Meikle himself.
Doors to the Hershey Centre will open at 10 a.m.
