Pastor on Biblcal Stand on Marriage

Dear Pastor,
One does not have to look far to realize the moral underpinnings of our nation are crumbling. Indeed, America has been careening down a “slippery slope” since the 1960’s when Madeline Murray O’Hare successfully oversaw the removal of prayer from our schools.
Today, in certain parts of our country, school children cannot say the Pledge of Allegiance using the words “under God.” Religious symbols are being removed from public display. Law-abiding Christians are being falsely accused and arrested. And now, marriage, the most sacred of our institutions, is being threatened!
The Church is called to be salt and light. Christ’s command to preach the gospel and make disciples remains our primary mission. But for too long the church has been silent on critical moral and social issues. It can be silent no longer! We must begin to restore the foundations which our forefathers laid. And, for the sake of our children, we must begin now.
I have established a goal to form a coalition of 50,000 pastors who will take action on issues that contradict God’s Word and negatively impact our families.
The first issue we must embrace is the defense of marriage. That’s the reason I am asking you to sign the Pastor’s Pledge to Defend Marriage. Alone, we cannot do much. Together, we can make a difference!
American Family Association, the organization sponsoring this effort, is a conservative, evangelical Christian ministry that holds dear the tenets of scripture.
We number among our close friends and allies the likes of Dr. James Dobson, Dr. D. James Kennedy, Charles Colson, William Bennett, Gary Bauer, and others.
Please prayerfully consider joining us as we attempt to use this website as “leaven” to influence our society to return to godliness.
In Christ,
Dr. Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman
American Family Association
(Sponsor of ChurchCoalition.com)
PS: Dr. Wildmon is an ordained United Methodist minister.
