Nominations Being Accepted for 2008 Wild Goose Awards

Find Celtic music and jewelry at Tolkien Town
A few years back publisher Kathryn E. Darden noticed that Celtic music has not been a big part of the annual Dove Awards. Being a huge fan of Celtic Christian music, last year Darden decided to partner with the Celtic Christian Music Group at Yahoo Groups to award the Wild Goose Awards to the best Celtic Christian artist or group. Although the award is more of a title than an actual trophy and is given in fun, not in a ceremony, the Wild Goose Awards seek to bring more attention and kudos to Celtic Christian music.

The nominees for the 2007 Wild Goose Award were:
Ceili Rain, Moya Brennan, Noirin Niriann, Eden’s Bridge, Iona, Carol Arblaster, Skip Cleavinger, Ric Blair, Burt Mitchell, Robin Mark, Deep Still, and The Electrics.
The votes were tallied and the winner of last year’s award was Ceili Rain!
This year the nominations for the 2008 Wild Goose Awards have been expanded into three categories: Celtic Christian Group of the Year, Celtic Christian Artist of the Year and Celtic Christian Project of the Year. The requirements for Group and Artist are that the artist and group needs to have recorded, toured or otherwise actively performed during 2007. Projects nominated for the Celtic Christian Project of the Year must have been released in 2007.
There are two ways to nominate artists for the Celtic Christian Music Awards: one is to email Christian Activities, but the best way is to join the Celtic Christian Music Group at Yahoo Groups so you can tell us why you like the band or artists and why they deserve to win!
Nominations will be accepted through March, and the winners for best Group, Artist, and Project will be selected by poll at the Celtic Christian Music Group at Yahoo Groups in April! Email your nomination or join the Celtic Christian Music Group today to make your vote count!
