Extreme Skate Adventure with Newsboys and Jump5 newest video game from Activision, Inc.
Sparrow Records groups Newsboys and Jump5 have made their mark on the latest video game from Activision, Inc., Extreme Skate Adventure, where they will both be featured on the upcoming Disney’s Extreme Skate Adventure video game. Newsboys “Live In Stereo” and Jump5’s “Spinnin’ Around” will be featured alongside other names such as Lil’ Romeo, Smash Mouth, and Grits.
The game, which immerses kids in a skateboarding adventure through the worlds of “The Lion King,” “Disney’s TarzanÔ” and Walt Disney Pictures’ presentation of Pixar Animation Studios’ “Toy Story 2,” is expected to hit store shelves this summer and will be available on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCubeÔ and Game BoyÒ Advance.
With sales exceeding 3 million units spanning multiple gold-certified recordings, and 21 No. 1 radio hits, Newsboys continue to drive the popularity of Christian music to new heights. Newsboys have attracted national media attention, garnering a cover story in Newsweek, and features on ESPN II, USA Today, CNN, and CBS Sunday Morning. With their latest release, Adoration: The Worship Album, the group has experienced their fastest selling album to date. The videogame serves as prelude to the release of Jump5’s new album, Accelerate due October 7. Their debut single, a cover of the Sister Sledge classic “We Are Family,” has been the theme for Radio Disney’s Summer Family Campaign. The group’s 2002 album All The Time In The World debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Contemporary Christian Albums chart. Most recently, Jump5 contributed the song “Shining Star” to the soundtrack of The Lizzie McGuire Movie. The group also performed at the film premiere party. In May they performed “All I Can Do” on the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, and their picture were featured on boxes of Zours Candy. They’ve already been selected to perform on Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and both a Christmas tour and ABC Family Christmas television special are on the way as well. Jump5 will open for Aaron Carter on his 2003 summer tour, taking the group to more than 20 cities nationwide.
