News from Nashville First Church (Updated March 4)

The Week Beginning Sunday – March 4, 2001
Volume 78 – Number 9
Christ lived in our world as a common man -but there is no way that you could call his life ordinary. He lived in the extraordinary power of God.
He was able to say that those who had seen him had seen the Father.
The works that he did were not his, but it was the Father residing in him
that did those works. So he would say to all of us that if we have ears we
need
to hear, and if we have eyes we need to see. In Christ the kingdom of God had
come near and lived as a common man. In so doing he sanctified our daily lives and made it possible for us to live extraordinarily in our daily walk.
Then it can be said of every Christian that their lives are “wrought in God.”
COMMUNITY MINISTRIES
THE COMMUNITY JUDGES CHRIST BY US.
We must be sure that we represent Christ in a way that pleases him. He
doesn’t want to be viewed as the god of the fat-cat who will cause you to
be rich and powerful. He desires to be known as the Good Shepherd, and as
the Light of the world. and as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He
told us to go out and represent him in this world. Just be sure to represent
him accurately.
LENTEN LUNCHES

are being held each Wednesday at noon at Tulip Street Methodist Church. 25
Churches of this immediate community are joining together to exalt Christ.
You are invited to join us.

INVEST IN A MINISTRY

It is imperative that God’s people invest in doing the work and will of our
risen Lord! Each person must find his or her own way of allowing God’s grace
to bless friends and neighbors. So……invest in God’s work, and he will
invest himself into your life and your own personal situation. It is
impossible to out-give God. This is a high-yield opportunity. Seek first
His kingdom and his righteousness…… You can know more by reading Matthew
6:25-33.
