New Day Church in West Nashville kicked off the holiday season with a sermon series that will lead into the holiday season and beyond. Pastor Jash Dean began his series with a sermon on “When God Doesn’t Speak,” covering the 400 years between Malachi and the New Testament when God was silent. This will lead into a study of Luke right in time for the period before Jesus’ birth and the Christmas story. The in-depth study of the book of Luke will continues after the holidays.

On Sunday night, the church met again at the Bellevue Community Center when a Thanksgiving Dinner was hosted for the small congregation, with most of the food prepared by the pastor’s wife, Cheryl Dean. Forty-something members were on hand for a delicious home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner with both regular turkey and smoked turkey on hand with all the trimmings and several kinds of pie for desert.

Following the meal, the worship team led the group in a couple of hymns and Pastor Dean preached a brief sermon on Thankfulness to God.

The church has several holiday events scheduled for the Christmas holidays including a ladies night out, an open house, and a Christmas Eve service.
