Embassy Music of Nashville, Tennessee today announced its New
Artist and Song Search will be held at Music City’s Opryland Hotel and
judged by leaders within the Christian Music Industry. Now in its 8th
year, The Ultimate Talent Search and Seminars will offer over $50,000 in
prizes, which includes a single song-publishing contract for the
grand-prize winning song. The grand-prize winning artist will have a
single recorded and distributed nationwide to Christian radio. Finalists
will also have the opportunity to perform live in Nashville in front of
a panel of industry professionals comprised of producers, publishers,
managers, and record labels.
Judges and panelists include Kent Coley, Forefront Records – credits
include Rebecca St. James and dc Talk. Brent Milligan, Producer –
credits include David Crowder and Ten Shekel Shirt. Darwin Moody,
Embassy Music – credits include Bruce Carroll and the London
Philharmonic Orchestra. Christine Piccione, Grassroots Music, the
premiere company in independent music distribution. Brian Smith, Turning
Point Media – credits include Selah and Michael W. Smith.
Special guest appearances at this fall’s event include R.J. Helton, last
year’s talent search winner. R.J. is currently seen on Fox TV’s network
series American Idol. Jason Cox and Emissary, current winners, will both
have their debut singles included on Embassy Music’s upcoming
compilation disc that will be released next month to Christian radio
stations throughout the U.S.
Entry forms for the Ultimate Talent Search are now available. All
entries must be received no later than Friday, August 16, 2002. To
