MTV has picked up The WB’s hit reality series Beauty And The Geek 2, and will begin re-airing the episodes in their entirety starting November 28th. The “social experiment” from the producing team of Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg (Punk’d) stars Nashville Publicity Group’s resident stylist Ty Soares.
Beauty And The Geek’s second installment pairs eight beautiful, sexy and socially savvy women with eight intellectually endowed, but socially stunted men for a chance to win $250,000. Each pair competes in various activities designed to test their intellect, pop culture knowledge and social skills. At the end of each episode, two couples face the elimination room, where they’re quizzed on the knowledge – or lack thereof – that they’ve obtained from their partner. One couple will make it to the end and walk away with the grand prize.
Soares, 23, graduates this month from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, where she majored in Mass Communications and minored in Music Business. For the past several months, she has juggled her studies with work as Nashville Publicity Group’s resident stylist. Her recent clients include KikStart Records artist Lyrycyst, Christian music’s hot new group Tracing Days, and Joanne Cash – sister of Johnny Cash – who is releasing an album of Gospel standards (featuring Johnny) in early 2007.
“I did not expect to learn as much as I did,” says Soares of the experience. “I learned a lot about myself. Everyone’s really proud of me. They say it is hard to believe that a shy little girl from Jersey was on a reality show.”
