Nashville’s Christmas
comes to Gaylord Entertainment Center
The countdown has officially begun; tickets for ?Nashville?s Christmas? with Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Michael W. Smith and the The Nashville Symphony Orchestra went on sale at Ticketmaster on October 21st. The shows are December 5th and 6th, at The Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville.
What has the busy Mrs. Gill been up to lately? Amy is still in the studio working with Keith Thomas and Brown Bannister on her next project with the release date now pushed back to sometime next year. In addition, a new version of Amy?s song, ?Child of God? will be included on Myrrh Record?s One Silent Night release this Christmas.
The song ?Irresistible Love? is Amy?s offering on the album The Mercy Project scheduled for a November 14 release to raise funds for Mercy Ministries, a home for troubled young women. ?Irresistible Love? was produced by Jeff Borders. Other artists on the project include Martina McBride, Point of Grace, Donna Summer, Jill Phillips and others.
Amy participated in a Lifetime Television special in October as Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Heart, Cyndi Lauper and Wynonna Judd played the historic Wiltern Theater in Los Angelesto tape a program for Lifetime cable channel. Fittingly called, Women Rock!: Girls & Guitars, the show was geared to raise awareness about breast cancer.
What?s next for Amy? This month she will don her sports shorts to play in the Vince Gill Celebrity Basketball Game on November 7th at Belmont University in Nashville. The game and concert benefit the Athletic Department and The Curb School of Music Business at Belmont University. Amy has also been asked to ride on the Target Float for the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California on New Year’s Day.
As we announced in last month’s issue, Amy and Vince, who were married on March 10th of this year, are expecting a baby to be born in March of 2001. This should keep Amy busy for a while.
