4/22/7 Nashville’s own Michael W. Smith joined Wynonna and other dignitaries who were honored with stars on Nashville’s Walk of Fame this afternoon.
4/12/7 Veteran recording artist/performer/worship leader Michael W. Smith joins an elite group of music industry figures later this month as he is inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame Sunday, April 22. The induction ceremony takes place at the Hall of Fame Park in downtown Nashville (across from the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum) starting at 3 p.m., and is open to the public.
4/1/7 Recipient of 2005’s Modern Rock Album of the Year GMA Dove Award and 2006’s most played artist at CHR radio (R&R), Sanctus Real brings its acclaimed brand of Rock to venues across the Southeast and Midwest on its 14-city spring “The Face of Love Tour.” Touring in support of its hit album, The Face of Love, the band will be playing fan favorites, as well as chart toppers from the current album, including the title track, the No. 1 hit “I’m Not Alright” and its current Top 5 radio single, “Don’t Give Up.” Launching April 23 in Nashville during Gospel Music Week, the tour features special guests, Needtobreathe and This Beautiful Republic.

The Schermerhorn Symphony Center and its audience will rise up in song, as the Nashville Symphony hosts its first-ever Community Hymn Sings on Friday, April 13 at 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m. Led by guest conductor David Hamilton, the community is invited to sing-along to a program of inspirational hymns, accompanied by the Nashville Symphony and the Nashville Choir. In addition, celebrated artists Alison Krauss, CeCe Winans, Steven Curtis Chapman, Steve Green, David Phelps and the Fisk Jubilee Singers, led by Paul Kwami, will also participate by singing one of their own favorite hymns.

The 38th Annual GMA Dove Awards (www.doveawards.com) will be presented on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 (8:00-10:00 p.m. CST) at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tenn., hosted by Dove-winning artists Natalie Grant, Brian Littrell and Donnie McClurkin and broadcast in national syndication during the month of May.
The original Nashville Star Search – Trowbridge Symposium enters its new season at Gaylord Entertainment Center. Scheduled for July 20 – 23 2007, the event is Nashville’s oldest career workshop and artist showcase event for all styles of music. Songwriters, singers, and bands compete for prizes and are judged by industry representatives from record labels, publishing companies, and talent agencies.
