Volume 78 – Number 14
At noon on the Nisan 15, three men were taken outside the city walls of
Jerusalem and executed by the Roman government at the bequest of the Jewish
Supreme Council. Two were common thieves. One was Jesus of Nazareth, who was
the central person being charged on this day. His crime was officially
blasphemy; but, because it was a religious issue and not a criminal issue, he
was formally charged with pronouncing himself king in opposition to Caesar.
This formal state execution will become the central moment of all human
history. The drama itself lasted for only three hours. With less than two
hours until the Sabbath, the Nazarene died. There is so much we do not know
about those moments. Only a few brave followers watched. What we do know has
changed the world.

PASTOR HENECKE TO PREACH AT LENTEN LUNCH WEDNESDAY, APRIL 11
The Lenten Lunches have been wonderful for all who have attended this year.
Jesus Christ has been proclaimed, the Holy Spirit has been present, and the
blessings of God the Father have been known. This Wednesday we will be

will sing. This will be the last Lenten Luncheon of the Season, and you are
invited to come! The location is the Tulip Street Methodist Church on Russell
Street, just behind First Church. Come at noon, bring a friend, and enjoy
this hour with God’s people. A light lunch is provided.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR MIDDLE / SENIOR ADULT RETREAT

INVEST IN A MINISTRY
It is imperative that God’s people invest in doing the work and will of our
risen Lord! Each person must find his or her own way of allowing God’s grace
to bless friends and neighbors. So……invest in God’s work, and he will
invest himself into your life and your own personal situation. It is
impossible to out-give God. This is a high-yield opportunity. Seek first
His kingdom and his righteousness…… You can know more by reading Matthew
6:25-33.
