Financial author, television personality,motivational speaker and popular national radio personality Dave Ramsey will be inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame during the NAB Show Radio Luncheon sponsored by ASCAP on Tuesday, April 9 in Las Vegas.
Based in Nashville, TN, Ramsey’s nationally syndicated radio program, “The Dave Ramsey Show,” is heard by 6 million listeners each week on more than 500 radio stations. The program is also streamed on Daveramsey.com
Dave Ramsey, who began his career in financial counseling at his local church, advises listeners on responsible money management from a Biblical perspective so they can care for their families and retire with their finances and a working budget in place.
In his book “The Total Money Makeover,” Ramsey points out that no one would remember the good Samaritan if he had not had money pay an innkeeper to help take care of the injured man in addition to a good heart. Ramsey believes money empowers good intentions.
“Dave Ramsey has influenced countless Americans through his sound financial advice and inspirational messages,” said NAB Executive Vice President of Radio John David. “We are pleased to induct him into NAB’s Broadcasting Hall of Fame.” Ramsey was honored with a prestigious NAB Marconi Award in 2009.
Born in Antioch, TN, Dave Ramsey founded his financial counseling company The Lampo Group, Inc. in 1992. He also created Financial Peace University (FPU) to help people erase debt and develop sound money management habits.
Ramsey’s four New York Times best-selling books – “Financial Peace,” “More Than Enough,” “The Total Money Makeover” and “EntreLeadership” have sold a combined 7 million copies. His latest best-seller, “EntreLeadership: 20 Years of Practical Business Wisdom from the Trenches,” was released in September 2011 and debuted at number one. He lives in Franklin, TN with his wife of over 30 years and their three children.
