I remember every moment, dad
You stopped to be with me.
Imparting often what you knew,
To guide what I would be.
The memories are permanent,
They’re engraved upon my heart.
Never fading, never dull
They’re like ornaments of art.
Ever hung upon my life,
They’re with me every day.
The memories I cherish
Cast the words I also say.
From lessons taught of business
To how to pitch a ball,
These memories are precious
And I savor one and all.
It reminds that the greatest gift
A dad can give his son,
Is time engraving memories;
Time spent one on one.
