Messiah Christian Church in Wells is encouraging people to get outside and walk or run to benefit the ministry of JOY 89.3. They are holding a 10K Run and a 2 Mile Fun Walk on Saturday, August 30th beginning at 8am. Everyone who participates will receive a free T-shirt. Register now for only $15 and after August 28th for just $20.
Beneficiary: The ministry of WMSJ is celebrating 10 years broadcasting Christ-centered music and ministry vignettes to southern and central Maine, and portions of seacoast New Hampshire. Through the years, JOY 89.3 has developed into one of the northeast’s strongest voices for sharing the message of Jesus. Each week, nearly 30,000 people tune in to hear positive messages of hope, poignant teaching moments, and wholesome fun weaved together by announcers committed to serving Christ in their vocation.
WMSJ also has played a lead role in bringing live performances by national Christian artists to the northeast. After several years without a single performance, Maine and New Hampshire now enjoy regular opportunities to interact with the artists they hear on JOY 89.3, encouraging the faith of many, and revealing the truth of Christ’s love to others… some for the very first time.
As a ministry dedicated to seeing our communities come to Christ, we recognize the importance of strong local Christ-honoring churches and ministries. WMSJ provides many hours of donated airtime to help promote events, speakers, concerts, and other outreach events held by area churches and other Biblically-based ministries. WMSJ personalities are out almost every week all year long, making appearances at many of these events. As WMSJ celebrates a Decade of JOY, we continue to strive to be Touching Lives Today, While Building for Tomorrow.
