Nashville recording artist Samantha Newark, the voice of Jem and Jerrica on the 1980s television show “Jem & The Holograms,” is speaking at the local doll club on January 5, 2012. Guests are welcome to come meet “Jem” for $3 at the door.
Jem & The Holograms was a colorful line of rock ‘n roll dolls as well as a television series which began production in 1985. The Jem dolls launched the animated TV show that ran from 1985 to 1988. The “Jem and the Holograms” television show, which was based on the doll characters and follows the adventures of Jem and her all-girl rock band, is still in syndication today.
The Belle Meade Plantation Belles doll club meets the first Thursday of every month at Shoney’s in Bellevue at 7 PM. Email barbieintn@yahoo.com for details or to RSVP.
