year and continues to do so with the release of the most powerful ballad on the project, Ride, and as she begins to speak at women’s conferences in a new
phase of her music ministry career. She will be available during GMA this

English-speaking world with all the force of the Latin craze.
Ileana Garces
Twenty-one year old Latin pop singer and One Voice Recording artist Illeana
Garces prepares for her first release, Dare to Love, a high-energy dance
album that challenges her generation to believe in God’s love.
Tramaine Hawkins
She grew up singing in various groups and lent her powerful lead vocals to
pop crossover hit “O Happy Day” in the ‘60’s. In 1985, her single “Fall
Down” became the first Gospel single to crossover to the #1 spot on the
mainstream Dance charts. Throughout her entire career, Tramaine Hawkins has
experienced tremendous success in the Gospel and mainstream music markets.
She has won two Grammies and shared the stage with such luminaries as Carlos
Santana and James Brown. Watch out for her upcoming release on Gospo Centric
Records in June 2001.
Ardent Records’ newest band Justifide makes waves with their aggressive yet
passionate release entitled Life Outside the Toybox. This incredibly
talented threesome mixes sounds of hard rock, metal, hip-hop and reggae in a
powerful blend with lyrics that reflect the social and spiritual realities of
a new generation.
Rhythm House recording artist and singer/songwriter Mary-Kathryn uses her
expressive voice to pour out her heart’s immense desire to share Jesus’ love
with the world. Her artistically innovative music draws upon cultures from
around the world and calls listeners to join together, despite differences.
Her newest album One Spirit combines French and American folk music, African
beats, Native American rhythms, and Celtic tunes in an ear-catching medley.
Mitch McVicker
Singer/songwriter Mitch McVicker went down in GMA history for his co-writing
effort with Rich Mullins that won him a Dove Award in 1999 for the moving
song “My Deliverer.” Now he is up to something fresh with his sophomore
release entitled Chasing the Horizon, in which his folk-pop tunes come alive.
Acclaimed Pamplin Music recording group Sierra is hard at work recording
their 2001 release. The highly anticipated album, entitled Journey, will be
Sierra’s fourth and most compelling work yet as they demonstrate the vocal
tightness that these three women have come to be known for.
Woody Rock
Founding member of the multi-platinum-selling mainstream R&B quartet Dru
Hill, Woody Rock has turned the tables with his move from secular to Gospel
music. Woody’s debut Gospel release Soul Music is anticipated this summer on
Gospo Centric Records. Soul Music combines hip-hop beats, head-nodding
melodies and cameo appearances by hot artists. Woody Rock says that, for
him, Gospel music is the true soul music.
Brother’s Keeper
Ardent Records’ 1999 Dove-nominated vocal group Brother’s Keeper has a sound
reminiscent of ‘N Sync flavored with some Memphis funk. Be looking for
Brother’s Keeper’s upcoming project to bow later this year.
Apart from Zoegirl, Aurora was the best-selling new girl group of 2000.
Their single “A World with You” is currently at number 13 on the CHR chart
and climbing. The girls will be launching their second album in early fall.
Javen Campbell
The leader of the Church Without Walls Choir of Tampa, FL, this R&B/pop
vocalist currently co-hosts “Paula White Ministries,” a morning talk show on
the BET network. Javen recently performed with BeBe Winans, Kirk Franklin
and R. Kelly at the Super Bowl Gospel Extravaganza held January 25 and 26th.
His debut album releases on Pamplin Records on July 24th. Pre-releases will
be available at GM Week.
Jody Davis
This talented guitarist for the Newsboys, stepped out to create a project of
his own, much like his bandmate Phil Joel. Jody wrote or co-wrote all of
the songs, sang, played all of the guitars (obviously!) and produced this
very personal album. Jody will be performing a set on the upcoming traveling
Festival Con Dios and is also looking at touring in the fall.
This talented teenager will release her debut project on Pamplin Records in
August. DawnCheré’s upcoming album features danceable songs with addictive
hooks and honest lyrics. She is co-writing her first recorded song “Only
You” with producer Tony Palacios and plans to maintain an active role in the
creative process. DawnCheré will make her debut at Pamplin’s Late Night
showcase on the Monday of GM Week.

Sound Leadership Awards. To schedule interviews with Natalie, please contact

Katy Hudson
This sixteen year-old singer/songwriter has taken the industry by storm with
her eclectic mix of jazz, blues, rock, and pop, a style very different from
many of her teenage counterparts. Fresh off Phil Joel’s Strangely Normal
Tour, Katy will continue to be seen and heard, gracing upcoming covers of
Release, 7-Ball, and Campus Life magazines in addition to touring with
manager/mentor Christian rocker Jennifer Knapp.
Kindred members Lamar, Shone and Wenché, all in their early twenties,
developed their musical talents in the inner-city neighborhoods of San
Diego. With members of Mexican-American and African-American descent, each
vocalist contributes a different musical flavor, ranging from R&B to Latin
to Jazz. Their July 10th debut, produced by John and Dino Elefante with
additional production by Mookie and Dan Needham, challenges the popular
perception of Christian music by reaching a cross-cultural audience with the
gospel of Jesus Christ.
Nikki Leonti
After an extended break, during which she got married and had a baby, Nikki
returns to the Christian music scene with the release of her second album on
Pamplin Records. Due to hit stores on August 7, the majority of the songs
are co-written by Nikki and lyrically reflect a lot of the lessons she’s
learned since her successful debut in 1998. Musically, it’s obvious that her
voice is as powerful and inspiring as ever. A preview of the album will be
available at GM Week.
Pop/rock band SpinAround is reaching audiences everywhere with their
stylistic versatility and their excellent storytelling ability. Their debut
album, Face The Crowd, hits stores April 24th, with the cut “Boy Meets Girl”
