The Lipscomb University theater department presents the
musical “The Fantasticks” Nov 7-10, 14-17 at 7:30 p.m. in the University
Theater, located at 3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville.
“The Fantasticks” recently closed after 41 years as the longest running show
in New York City. The musical concerns a romance in which the young lovers
experience the realities of the world and become disillusioned, only to
discover a more mature level of love at the end after their trials. The
theme is best illustrated by the words to the song, Try to Remember —
“without a hurt the heart is hollow,” said Larry Brown, professor and chair
of the theater department and director of the play.
Admission is free. Performances are open to the public, and everyone is
invited to attend. No tickets or reservations are required, but arrive early
because seating is limited.
