Lipscomb University’s Department of Music presents
a Christmas Concert Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Collins Alumni Auditorium, 3901
Granny White Pike, Nashville.
The event is free and open to the public and everyone is invited to
attend.
The concert combines performances by the University Concert Band, A
Cappella Singers and the University Singers. The University Concert Band
will be playing Prelude on Three Welsh Hymn Tunes by Ralph Vaughan Williams
and Polish Christmas Music by Johan de Meij. The A Cappella Singers’
selections include Beati Quorum Via by C.V. Stanford, Gloria by Jeffrey
Rickard, and Nunc Dimittis by Gustav Holst. The University Singers will
perform Praise the Lord by Edwin Fissinger, Come, Let Us Praise by Heinz
Zimmermann, and Lord at all Times by Felix Mendelssohn. The two choruses
will combine to perform Sing We Noel by Pavel Chesnokov and Deck the Halls
arranged by James McKelvy. All three groups will perform A Christmas
Celebration by Alfred Reed, A Christmas Festival by Leroy Anderson, and
White Christmas by Irving Berlin.
