The Lipscomb University Artist Series presents the San Antonio Vocal Arts Ensemble Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. in Shamblin Theatre, located in the Student Center, 3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville.
The San Antonio Vocal Arts Ensemble will present “Ancient Echoes,” which recreates ancient music of the Holy Lands. The music includes original prayers of Jesus sung in his native Aramaic, Levitical liturgical music from Jerusalem’s Second Temple, music of the followers of Jesus and the courtly music of Herod’s palace.
SAVAE is noted for its mastery of the presentation of Medieval and Renaissance vocal music, complementing its vocal work with reproductions of ancient wind, string and percussion instruments.
Admission for the Lipscomb University Artist Series is $7 or free for anyone with a Lipscomb I.D. card. The events are open to the public and everyone is invited to attend.
