The Lipscomb University Faculty and Friends Series
presents the Godwin-Thompson Duo on April 8 at 8 p.m. in Shamblin Theatre,
3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville.
Admission is free. The concert is open to the public. Everyone is
invited to attend.
Since forming in 1992, the Godwin-Thompson Duo has performed
throughout the United States presenting over 150 performances. Bringing a
wide variety of works to the stage has established the duo as one of the
South’s most interesting and refined guitar ensembles. The duo have been
featured performers on WPLN’s “Live in Studio C” and in a thirty minute
WDCN-PBS television concert special entitled “Recital Hall.”
Mark Godwin has been an instructor of guitar at Lipscomb since 1990.
He also teaches as an adjunct instructor at Belmont University.
Robert Thompson serves on the guitar faculty at Belmont University
as an adjunct instructor and also as the director of the Belmont Classical
Guitar Ensemble.
