The Lipscomb University Music Department presents
the Jazz Band and Vocal Ensemble April 19 at 6:30 p.m. in Shamblin Theatre
located in the Student Center, 3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville.
The Jazz Band will perform Los Brujos De Cisano by Matt Harris,
Mystique by Dave Eshelman, Keep On Playin’ The Blues by Neal Finn, Lazy
River by Hoagy Carmichael and Sidney Arodin, I’m Just A Lucky So And So by
Mack David and Duke Ellington, and Blues for Bubber by Kevin McElrath.
The Jazz Vocal Ensemble will perform Blue Moon by Richard Rodgers;
Don’t Get Around Much Anymore by Duke Ellington; Blue Skies by Irving
Berlin; Milonga del Ángel (Tango) composed for piano by Astor Piazzolla and
adapted and arranged by Dr. Gerald Moore, professor of music at Lipscomb
University and How Can I Miss You If You Won’t Go Away will feature words
and music by Lipscomb University sophomore Melissa Lancaster, with
arrangement for voices and Jazz Band by Moore.
The Lipscomb University Music Department presents
the University Concert Band April 23 at 8 p.m. in Collins Alumni Auditorium,
3901 Granny White Pike, Nashville.
The University Concert Band will feature music of America including:
Liberty Fanfare by John Williams; Suite of Old American Dances by Robert
Russell Bennett; An American Elegy by Frank Ticheli; Lincoln Portrait by
Aaron Copland, with narration by Henry O. Arnold, retired professor of music
and drama at Lipscomb University; and Stars and Stripes Forever by John
Philip Sousa.
The concerts are free and open to the public. Everyone is invited to
