The City of Lawrenceburg, TN hosts a 4th of July Festival each year. Beginning this year, Lawrenceburg will salute a different sister state each year. This year’s celebration will begin on June 25th and go through July 3rd, and will salute North Carolina and everyone’s favorite fictional small town, Mayberry USA. Special guest for this year’s activities is George Lindsey who portrayed Mayberry mechaninc “Goober” on the beloved television series.

Also on hand for the parade and other activities will be Goober’s co-workers at Wally’s service station, “Wally” and “Flora” impersonators.

A different activity, synonymous with Mayberry traditions and values, is planned each day. The week will culminate in a Grand Finale on Saturday, July 3rd, which will be held at the Lawrence County High School Football Arena on Springer Road, and will include a Hole in One Contest, Hot Air Balloon rides, games for the kids, musical entertainment, a fish fry, and a spectacular fireworks display at 9:00PM.
