Spring Hill Worship, in partnership with TSG Records, announces the release of Unbreakable Bond, a worship recording from GB5, a vocal group of Redlands, California. The group consists of The Gutierrez Brothers—Louie, Jamie, Isaac, Mark and Aaron—who have combined their distinct family harmonies with their Latin-influenced style of worship.
Unbreakable Bond was produced by industry leaders including recording artist Jonathan Butler, Rex Rideout (Luther Vandross, Angie Stone, Will Downing), Alberto Salas (Carlos Santana, Los Lobos, Poncho Sanchez), Jason White (Helen Baylor, Kurt Carr, Judith McAllister) and Phil Sillas (Plus One, Natalie Grant, Promise Keepers). Butler wrote and produced four songs and appears on “Holy Holy.”
The project captures the vibrant Latin-pop praise style of GB5—a style that is infused with urban tones and jazz influences, highlighting the group’s signature sound and heartfelt messages. The first single from the project, “As Long As I Can Pray,” is being added now at inspirational and worship stations nationwide. Celebrated vocalist Tata Vega appears on the upbeat “You Who Reigns,” and the Spanish number “Te Alabo” features Justo Alamario, giving the recording a greater cross-cultural appeal.
“Immediately upon meeting these guys, I knew they had something special—something that was genuine and unique musically,” states Sillas. “After working with them, I am even more convinced that their lifestyles speak as strongly as the music, and they offer a sound that is universal to today’s church. GB5 brings to life that certain joy that only comes from a family who sings together.”
GB5 performs frequently at festivals, conferences, churches and conferences across the country with an emphasis along the West Coast and in Arizona and Texas. Their bilingual approach and their ability to transcend race and genre have given them a large platform in Spanish and African American venues in addition to the modern-day church.
In 2004, the group was featured on the Spanish version of Maranatha! Music’s best-selling series title Top 25 Alabanzas Para Hoy (Praises for Today), a recording that captured the number one position on the Christian Latin music charts and showcased the group’s rare ability to cross barriers, musically and culturally. Members of GB5 have also been featured on Adorar, Cantos de Alabanza y Adoración, a Spring Hill Worship release currently nominated for Spanish Language Album of the Year.
