The Koinonia Family Reunion and concert takes place tonight, November 1 at 7PM at The Factory in Franklin, TN. The event will celebrate the early years of Koinonia when contemporary Christian music was getting its start in Nashville in the 1970s and early 1980s.
Performers include: Michael W. Smith, Dogwood, Homecoming, and Fireworks as well as Billy Sprague, Jim Weber and Alan Robertson. Other singer/songwriters and special guests from the old Koinonia stage are also scheduled to appear.
The official Koinonia Family Reunion website is up at Koinonia Family Reunion. Tickets have sold extremely well so a packed house is expected.
“The Koinonia Family Reunion is generating so much excitement… it’s contagious!” says radio personality Brian Mason. “Not only are the fans who attended those wonderful events lining up to be there, but the artists themselves can’t seem to wait for Nov 1st. The whole Koinonia experience was such a weekly “filling station” for us all…. it changed our lives. I can’t wait either!”
Koinonia played an important role in the development of ChristianActivities.com which was launched as the Koinonia Concert Calendar at Koinonia Bookstore & Ministries in 1987. See Christian Magazine Grew from Calendar.
Admission will be free with one can of food for the “Feed Franklin First Ministry” and one Bible to be sent out by “Times of Refreshing Ministries.” A love offering will also be taken to help the Ethiopian Jews and the Nashville Union Rescue Mission.
Ticket info is also available on the website at Koinonia Family Reunion.
