Kirk Franklin Song “A God Like You” in Netflix Michelle Obama film, “Becoming”

Choir director, gospel musician, singer, songwriter, and author Kirk Franklin’s song, “A God Like You,” is featured in the new Michelle Obama documentary “Becoming” just released globally on Netflix. Franklin’s energetic track is featured in the documentary’s opening moments, which follows Michelle Obama on her book tour.

“A God Like You” is from Kirk Franklin’s GRAMMY®-winning hit album Hello Fear, released in 2011 by Verity Records. The song’s appearance in the film was a complete surprise experience for Franklin himself, whose shocked reaction was captured on video in a sweet family moment with his wife Tammy and posted by their daughter Kennedy, as he watched the documentary for the first time.

Kirk Franklin (Fo Yo Soul/RCA) is best known for leading urban contemporary gospel choirs such as The Family, God’s Property, and One Nation Crew (1NC) and others. Franklin has received many awards, including 15 Grammys, as well as GMA Dove Awards, BET Award, Soul Train Awards and Stellar Awards. Variety  dubbed Franklin as a “Reigning King of Urban Gospel.”
