Kirk Franklin Releases Biggest Hits

Multi-GRAMMY and Dove Award-winning Gospo Centric Records recording artist Kirk Franklin and retail giant Kmart will be releasing an exclusive CD that will feature new remixes of some of Franklin’s biggest hits. Kirk Franklin: A Season of Remixes will be available in Kmart stores nationwide beginning on November 17 and the promotion will run through the holiday season.

The new album includes “Why We Sing (Kirk¹s Cool Mix),” “Brighter Day (Kirk¹s Mix),” “Revolution (Big Yam¹s Jam Mix),” “Gonna Be a Lovely Day (Meech Remix),” “Lean on Me (Church Mix)” and a bonus remix, “Brighter Day (Ernie G¹s Mix).”
“Kirk Franklin is one of the most well-known and respected Gospel Music artists in the industry today,” comments Ron Cunningham, Kmart Buyer of music and video. “Kmart is pleased to offer our customers this exclusive, uplifting album with remixed versions of his biggest hits, ‘right here, right now’ and just in time for the holidays.”

Franklin is currently touring with ForeFront Records recording artist tobyMac with “I Have a Dream-The Tour,” sponsored by the E.R.A.C.E. Foundation (Eliminating Racism and Creating Equality) and The Message Bible, (NavPress). The tour was created to raise awareness of the need to break down the barriers of racism and discrimination. A special contest in conjunction with the tour will benefit local youth organizations along the tour route.
Franklin has sold over 12 million records to date, making him one of the top-selling gospel artists of all time. He currently has eight Platinum records, including his latest album, The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin, as well as his earlier projects, God¹s Property (three-time certified Platinum) and The Nu Nation Project (two-time certified Platinum). During the past year, Franklin has earned three NAACP Image Awards, five Stellar Awards, two Dove Awards (as artist and producer of The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin) and eight Dove Award nominations.
