Kevin Max Offers Fans a Free Show

Kevin Max-a four-time Grammy award winner, and member of the Christian powerhouse group dcTalk-has announced that he is offering a free ticket to the first 100 fans to arrive at his concert this Sunday, October 23 at Exit/In (2208 Elliston Place) in Nashville, Tenn. The 18 and over show starts at 8 p.m., and doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door, but a lucky few who show up early and say “Northern Records sent me” will get in free. His performance, which will feature music from his recently released album The Imposter, will be followed by a special listening party where concert attendees are invited to stay and listen to the CD in it’s entirety. For more information on the show, or to reserve a paid ticket, concert-goers can call the venue at 615-321-3340 or visit Ticketmaster.com.

Those who can’t wait until Sunday to see Kevin Max perform live – or are unable to go to the Sunday night show – can check out his acoustic show this Saturday night, October 22 at Bongo Java’s “Bongo After Hours” (2007 Belmont Blvd.) in Nashville, Tenn. The show starts at 7 p.m., and tickets for this show are available for $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Additional information is available by calling 615-385-1188.
The Imposter – the critically acclaimed album which released October 11, 2005 – features 12 songs plus a bonus track, and offers music lovers an experience that is incisive, artistic, and uncompromising. “The idea of ‘the imposter’ comes from Brennan Manning’s books, The Ragamuffin Gospel and Abba’s Child,” Max says. “dcTalk did weekend retreats with Brennan, and we’d get to talk. He’d explain that ‘the imposter’ is in all of us-it’s that fleshly part that isn’t willing to give up the ghost, that part that wants to take over the spirit in us. That’s what the album is about-the fight between the flesh and the spirit.”
The project is the long-awaited follow-up to Max’s first solo album, Stereotype Be (Forefront/EMI CMG) and comes on the heels of the Between the Fence and the Universe EP that was recently made available independently. Max is also the author of two poetry books – At the Foot of Heaven (Star Publishing Group) and Detritus of Dorian Grey (Blind Thief Publishing). As a member of dcTalk, Max enjoyed more than 8 million records sold worldwide and the Top 40 pop hit, “Just Between You and Me,” (Virgin), which received significant airplay on VH1 and MTV.
Kevin Max’s The Imposter is available on Northern Records and distributed by Infinity Music Distribution/Central South Distribution and Northern Music Distribution. Along with Max, Northern Records-founded in 1999 in Yorba Linda, Calif.-is home to Luxury, The Billions, newcomer Kelly Ruppe, All Things Bright and Beautiful and Holly Nelson.
