Cross Driven Records singer/songwriter Kelly Minter is in South Africa this month to help World Vision increase public awareness regarding the staggering HIV/AIDS pandemic, political unrest and food shortage that has increasingly gripped the region over the past few years. Minter will be periodically joined by Gotee Records recording artist Out of Eden, Provident Label Group recording artist Third Day and Reunion Records recording artist NewSong on the “African Heart” trip.
Minter, a spokesperson for World Vision, will serve as news corespondent for the group as they travel through Southern Africa, including villages in Lesotho and Swaziland. She and the other artists will visit HIV/AIDS treatment sites, clinics and community centers. They will also meet one-on-one with AIDS orphans, both those who are sponsored by World Vision as well as those who are without the benefit of World Vision sponsorship. Minter will be sharing her experiences while in Africa through an internet journal and streaming video featured on a section of World Vision’s web site (www.worldvision.com/africanheart).
