JAKE launches Canadian tour with the Newsboys

Records’ Canadian brother trio JAKE launches a
Canadian tour with the Newsboys today, Friday, June 7. The tour is
scheduled to hit cities across Canada in the provinces of Manitoba, Alberta,
British Columbia, Ontario and Saskatchewan.
“JAKE is a perfect fit for the Newsboys Canadian tour because of its
reputation and presence in Canada. As Canadians themselves, the guys really
have a heart and passion to impact the youth of Canada and they’ve been
blessed with incredible opportunities and success both in the Christian and
general market throughout that country,” notes Dean Diehl, general manager
of Reunion Records.
In addition to the Canadian tour, JAKE will be appearing at several summer
festivals this year including AtlantaFest, Alive Fest and Freedom Fest among
others. Since signing with Reunion in 1999, JAKE has been a part of
NewSong’s Summer JAM tours and the “Left Behind” tour.
JAKE recently won all four Vibe Awards for which it was nominated in the
inaugural Canadian Gospel People’s Choice Awards, taking top honors as
Artist of the Year and Group of the Year. The band also received Song of
the Year for “Believer” (written by Toby Penner and Eldon Winter) and
Contemporary/Pop Album of the Year for its self-titled debut.
Jake released its sophomore project, Army of Love, on February 26, 2002. In
addition to winning a Vibe Award, the band’s self-titled debut received a
nomination for a 2001 Juno Award for Best Gospel Album, and Jake was
nominated for two 2001 Canadian Radio Music Awards for New Pop/Adult Group
and Best New Top 40 Group.
Founded in 1982, Nashville-based Reunion Records and its affiliated labels,
Brentwood Records, Diadem Music and Benson Records, are distributed through
Provident Music Distribution and through partnerships with mainstream parent
company, Zomba Music. In addition to Jake, Reunion Records is home to
Michael W. Smith, Kathy Troccoli, Joy Williams, LaRue, NewSong and Daily
Planet.
