Platinum-selling vocalist Jaci Velásquez takes a bold new stride in her upcoming March 25th release
Unspoken.
Most recent recipient of a Latin Billboard Music Award in the “Pop Album of
the Year- Female” category, Word Records’ recording artist Jaci Velásquez
co-wrote seven of the 12 songs included on her upcoming musical offering
Unspoken.
“These songs reveal things I’ve always felt, but never have been able to
come out and say,” reflects the 22-year-old Velásquez. “This album really
is all about those emotions and ideas that have been left unspoken till now.
Being able to record songs that I’ve actually written myself makes it all
the more important to me.”
Unspoken, recorded in Nashville, Los Angeles and Miami, boasts a
high-profile lineup of producers including Matthew Gerrard (Nick Carter,
Bebe Mack, Plus One), Tommy Sims (Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, India Arie,
Amy Grant), and Emilio Estefan (Gloria Estefan, Shakira, Ricky Martin).
Velásquez herself also produced one cut, “Your Friend,” along with her band
members.
Also notable is the list of writers with whom Velásquez partnered.
Dove-award winning songwriter and artist Cindy Morgan teamed up with her to
create “I’m Alive.” This was a highlight as Velásquez explains that writing
with Morgan was “a dream of mine since I first started in the music
industry.” Producer Matthew Gerrard also contributed on the songwriter
front and co-wrote six cuts on the album. Others claiming songwriter
credits include Bridget Benenate, Madeline Stone, Oran Hatch, Toby Gad, Tom
McWilliams, Freddy Pinero Jr., Javier Solis, Abel Orta, Jamba, Chris Faulk,
Hunter Davis, and Dillon O’Brian.
Velásquez will embark on a nationwide tour in support of Unspoken in the
spring as well as a second leg of dates in the Fall 2003. Fans can support
the new album and tour by joining her street team at www.jacivelasquez.com . Also coming in 2003 is a Spanish language
album from Velásquez on Sony Discos.
Jaci Velásquez is one of the most recognizable entertainers spanning two

Velásquez will round out her musical career successes with a major role in
upcoming Fox 2000 Pictures movie “Chasing Papi,” which releases to movie
theaters nationwide in May 2003.
