I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow A wave tossed in the ocean (ocean) A vapor in the wind Still you hear me when I’m calling Lord, you catch me when I’m falling And you’ve told me who I am I am yours, I am yours— Casting Crowns
Flowers Quickly Fading
Isaiah 40:8
“The grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God will stand forever.”
English Standard Version (ESV)
My favorite song right now is “Who Am I” performed by Casting Crowns as well as an older version by Sheila Walsh. One of the lines that resonates with me is this one:
“I am a flower quickly fading, Here today and gone tomorrow.”
Our lives are so transient and the future is promised to no man. God loves us, hears us and catches us when we fall in spite or our brevity, our shortcomings, our sins. We should make the most of our short time on earth to speak love, serve God and treasure the gift and blessings of each day.
Don’t just stop and smell the roses; BE the rose. Enjoy your time of blooming and use it to the glory of God.
