Decca is slated to release the second record by Irish Tenor Ronan Tynan into the CBA marketplace on September 26, 2006 through EMICMG Distribution. The Dawning of the Day is a compilation of beloved hymns, Christian favorites and spiritual classics that are an extension of Ronan’s artistic and spiritual being.
It became clear to Ronan, whose inspiring life story of faith and determination is known worldwide, after the release of his first album that he had a heart and a passion to express his faith and his remarkable example of strength through his music. The Dawning of the Day represents his quest to fully realize this potential. “I’m really proud of this album,” Tynan says. “I worked with an amazing team which I think comes through on everything from the arrangements to the selection of songs.”
This follow-up to his self-titled Decca Records debut, Ronan, which was a Top 10 album on the Contemporary Christian Music charts, The Dawning of the Day features the production and unmatched talent of multiple Grammy®-winner Brown Bannister. Known for his work with Christian music’s most highly regarded artists including Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman, CeCe Winans, Avalon and Point Of Grace, Bannister is recognized as one of the most respected and successful producers in the Christian music genre. Tynan describes Bannister as “having a tremendous talent and understanding of faith-driven music.”
The album contains well-known tracks such as “Morning Has Broken (Duet with Vince Gill),” “Be Still My Soul,” “Healing Rain,” “Faith Of Our Fathers,” “Via Dolorosa,” “God Bless America.” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”
“Ronan’s accomplishments are astonishing, his energy is boundless, his passion is enviable, but his heart is what I respect the most.” reflects Brown Bannister. “This album is the outpouring of a man who has a profound gratitude for all that he has been given, and he has been given a lot. In the last 30 years of producing records, I have never worked with an artist quite like Ronan. He is larger than life and when you are with him, you are swept up into his world. Listening to him sing these songs of faith is an uplifting experience.”
After launching his solo career in the spring of 2005, following his great success as a member of the world-renowned Irish Tenors, Ronan discovered his love of recording faith-based songs. His self-titled, debut record Ronan landed at #2 on the Billboard Classical Crossover Chart and ranked the 8th best selling crossover album of 2005.
Despite a disability that lead to the amputation of both of Ronan’s legs at the age of 20, Ronan has won 18 Gold Medals as a multitalented athlete in the Paralympics and is the first disabled person ever to be admitted to the National College of Physical Education and received his degree as a medical doctor specializing in Orthopedic Sports Medicine from the prestigious Trinity College.
With appearances on national television shows such as Primetime Live, Good Morning America, The 700 Club, Crystal Cathedral and Fox & Friends, Ronan Tynan, a native Irishman, began a special relationship with his American audience after 35 million people were deeply moved when they heard him sing “Amazing Grace” and “Ave Maria” on National television at the funeral of President Ronald Reagan, at the invitation of Nancy Reagan, in the summer of 2004. Both songs are included on The Dawning of the Day.
The Dawning of the Day showcases the versatility in Ronan’s distinctive voice in what he calls, “an album for everyone.”
