Floodgate Records Signs With Word and Rocketown
Tim Taber, best known for his work with the band Prayer Chain, is the founder of California-based Floodgate Records. Floodgate recently announced a distribution agreement with Word Entertainment and a marketing/promotions deal with Rocketown Records. The first release will be Rita Springer’s upcoming project All I Have, scheduled for an October 17th release. Rocketown will aid Floodgate in radio promotion, developing marketing plans, detail campaigns and serve as the local liaison with Word.
Taber spent five years as an artist on Reunion Records with his band The Prayer Chain. He will continue to manage Dove winners The Insyderz and will remain a partner in Transparent Productions, which promotes concerts in the Los Angeles area.
Rocketown Writers Series Features Top Songs
The Rocketown Writers Series Vol. 1 arrives October 17th and will feature the musical stylings of Gordon Kennedy, Wayne Kirkpatrick, Phil Madeira and Billy Sprague.
The foursome revisit the songs “Place In This World” (originally recorded by Smitty), “Grand Canyon” (Susan Ashton/Kathy Mattea), “Via Dolorosa” (Sandi Patty), “Man After Your Own Heart” (Gary Chapman), “Everywhere I Look You Are” (Phil Keaggy), “Hunger and Thirst” (Susan Ashton), “That Kind of Love” (PFR), “You Move Me” (Susan Ashton/Garth Brooks), “Change Your World” (Eric Clapton/Wynonna) and combine for their new song – “Comin’ From Somewhere Else”.
Word Artisan Debuts October 17th
Word Artisan was inspired by Phil Keaggy and created to showcase his skills and will present two new releases from Keaggy – Inseparable and Lights of Madrid. Unlike other labels, Word Artisan is free of A&R direction.
