3/05/01 Smithsonian Institute Launches Mobile Museum of Black Spiritual Music This February, coinciding with Black
History Month, the Smithsonian Institute launched a mobile museum devoted to the history of black spiritual music. CeCe Winans sang at the kickoff ceremony. The exhibit, “Wade in the Water: African-American Sacred Music Traditions 1871-2001″ will travel to 50 U.S. cities this year. For more information, go towww.si.edu/sites/exhibit/wade.htm.
