Local families will have the opportunity to learn about adoption from a Christian perspective when nationally known adoption workshop “If You Were Mine” comes to Brentwood on Saturday, May 14. “If You Were Mine” is a one-day, comprehensive adoption workshop offered by FamilyLife, a national leader in Christian marriage and family resources headed by nationally known speaker and Christian radio personality Dennis Rainey.
“If You Were Mine” is designed to educate couples and individuals on the adoption process and experience from a biblical worldview. This fast-paced workshop will provide an overview of the international, domestic and foster care adoption process. Participants will learn adoption requirements for individual countries, and will find out about strategies and resources that are available to minimize the cost of adoption. Breakout sessions will address multi-racial adoptions, special needs adoptions, and starting an orphan ministry in a local church. Local adoption agency representatives will also be on hand to answer adoption questions.
Regarded as a unique adoption resource, “If You Were Mine” is praised by leaders in the Christian community for its efforts in uniting orphans and abandoned children with Christ-honoring homes.
“[This is] an outstanding workshop for any couple considering adoption!” states popular Contemporary Christian artist Steven Curtis Chapman. “FamilyLife’s ‘If You Were Mine’ adoption workshop offers practical, biblical information to help couples overcome the misconceptions and fears about adoption.”
