Fathom Events presents the big screen premiere of the inspirational documentary “Helen | Believe”—coming to select Fathom theaters nationwide on Thursday, March 30. Tickets for the event go on sale on Friday, February 24.
Directed by Dylan Mulick, “Helen | Believe” is the inspiring true story of Olympian Helen Maroulis, who made history at the 2016 Olympic Games when she defeated Japan’s Saori Yoshida—the most decorated wrestler of all-time—to become the first American woman to win a Gold Medal in wrestling.
Her blossoming career was sidelined, however, after suffering a concussion in 2018. The trauma would lead to battles with anxiety, depression, severe PTSD, and chronic pain, ultimately forcing her into an early retirement. “Helen | Believe” picks up with Maroulis after a year-and-a-half away from the mat, as she fights to overcome these immense hurdles and begins training to defend her title at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
This one-night event will also include an exclusive intro from Producer Chris Pratt who wrestled competitively in his youth and a post film piece from Maroulis.
Tickets for “Helen | Believe” can be purchased online at Fathom Events. A complete list of theater locations is available on the Fathom Events website (participating theaters are subject to change).

“‘Helen | Believe’ is an incredibly moving story about a true warrior and American sports hero,” said Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt. “The people involved in this film were committed to telling Helen’s inspirational story of overcoming obstacles through faith and determination – both in front of the camera and behind-the-scenes—and that commitment is displayed throughout, transcending to the audience and allowing the deeply human elements of Helen’s story to shine.”
“I’m thrilled to announce “Helen | Believe” is set to open in theaters across America on March 30, added Producer Chris Pratt. We at Indivisible Productions couldn’t be more proud of this inspiring and uplifting film that celebrates the strength of the human spirit and the power of belief.”
“Helen | Believe” is produced by Chris Pratt, Darren Moorman, Tracy Aftergood, Sean Devereaux and Andrea Courtney in conjunction with Religion of Sports, an Emmy Award-winning sports media company founded by creator Gotham Chopra, seven-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady, and NFL Hall of Famer Michael Strahan —as well as Reserve Entertainment, and Chris Pratt’s own Indivisible Productions. UTA Independent Film Group is representing the sale of the worldwide rights to the film.
