Helen Baylor – Out of Africa

Diadem Music artist Helen Baylor recently
returned from Warri, Nigeria, where she performed at the Daughters of Sarah
Convention 2002. Hosted by Word of Life Bible Church, the largest church in
Warri, Nigeria, Baylor sang before an average attendance of 4,000 people,
performing at the convention’s three evening services and Sunday morning
service.
“One of the highlights of the trip was singing ‘Awesome God’ with the
Daughters of Sarah choir,” comments Baylor. “Each time I visit Africa, I’m
impressed with the enthusiasm and thankfulness the people there have for
Jesus. It seems that compared to Americans, these people might have so much
less in the natural but so much more in the spiritual.”
This was Baylor’s third trip to Nigeria, but it was her first trip inland to
the more rural Warri. Her previous two trips took Baylor to the port city
of Lagos.
Award winning artist Helen Baylor released My Everything, her seventh
full-length gospel album and her debut album for Diadem Music, on January
22, 2002. Over the past decade, Helen Baylor has proven herself to be one
of gospel music’s leading ladies-receiving three Gospel Music Association
Dove Awards, four Stellar Awards and one Soul Train Lady of Soul Award.
