Russ Lee has announced the formation of Vertical Vibe Records and the subsequent release of Hear Those Bells, his first Christmas recording, on November 9. Lee will helm the Murfreesboro, Tennessee-based label, which has secured a national distribution agreement with New Day Christian Distributors.
Produced by Zane King and executive produced by Lee, Hear Those Bellsfeatures 11 cuts, including original selections such as “Angel In The Snow” and “Pictures On Mantles.” The project also showcases Lee’s talent as a songwriter on “Baby Boy” and the title-cut, both of which were written by James Isaac Elliott and Lee. In addition, Lee covers such classics as “Joy To The World,” “O Holy Night,” “Go Tell It On The Mountain,” and “Do You Hear What I Hear?” among other songs.
“I wanted to do a Christmas project that reflects the warm heart of a family holiday and also captures a world of different musical styles,” Lee says. “Hear Those Bells presents original songs as well as new arrangements of great standards. I hope it will be a musical experience that folks can enjoy for years to come.”
