HAS LIFE BEEN BEATING YOU UP LATELY?

Do you ever feel like a victim in the world’s system? You do your best to follow God’s will, His commands and precepts, only to be blind sided by the enemy! As you get up from the beating he hits you again but, this time with even more force than before and the effect is felt on such a deep level!? It seems the further in our walk we go and the more personal it becomes with Christ …. the more personal it also becomes to satan! You grow deeper in Truth and you become more of a threat to God’s foe! We cannot afford to forget that satan hates us, we are in a constant battle, an ongoing race to the finish ….to your last breath. This should not scare us but prepare and motivate us to keep our eyes wide open as we constantly cover all that is attached to us in prayer!
I know that many times I have viewed these attacks on me and my family as individual or separate events. But have come to find out that satan attacks and continues as long as he can. After that particular battle is over, he is not gone, only lurking in the shadows for an opportune time to launch another attack! Toeholds that were gained through previous battles, I sometimes ignore because it is over. But when left unattended they can soon become footholds and then strongholds! Satan melodically plots over time and will wait years to get the stronghold. His goal is to destroy the child of God, whether it be in the teen years or in the 50’s, as long as his mission is accomplished he is successful!! Paul talks about this in Galatians
5:7& 8, he says, “You were running a good race, who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you.”
Again Paul refers to life as a race in Philippians 3:12-21. I believe that within this range of verses there is crucial message for every child of God, “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of for me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Phil.3:12-14. This does not mean that we should just forget the bad but also not to live on all of our laurels, successes and “wins”. Sure, be encouraged by them, but do not give yourself a false foundation by building on them. The instant we do that we are relying on ourselves and not continuing on in the humbleness and constant surrender to the Spirit…and the su! re foundation that can only be provided by God!
If you are a sports fan think of your life like a Prize Fight, football or baseball game.
You would never give up in the second or third round, if both fighters are still standing. Nor would you stop in the fifth inning or in football quit in the third quarter .. or punt on first down, just because you were ahead!! The game is your life, as long as you are drawing breath the fight, struggle, battle ..whatever you want to call it “is on!!” Don’t get too comfortable between innings or rounds!! Satan is not in the locker room taking a Jacuzzi …he is plotting your destruction!!
We must not glorify or focus on the enemy but we need to understand how he works!! And then combat his attacks through all of the equipment and supplies that God blesses us with! Pray that God through His Holy Spirit will intercept the evil plots of satan against you and your family. Pray that God send His angels out to confuse the evil one as he and his demons descend upon you in pursuit (Ps 55:9)! God can and will answer those prayers! Pray blessings of protection over your mind, body and soul! Access all that God has given you, don’t give up or coast…. because the enemy does not!! Don’t get complacent or discouraged, get up and get back in the game!
And remember this: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24
God sees ….He hears…. and He cares!!! At the times when you think that He is the farthest from you, is when He is actually the closest!! When everything that you were use to denigrates before your eyes…God is there! He saw it coming and was not surprised! Forge your weakness to His all powerful strength and become mighty through Christ! One thing that I have come to find such sweet comfort in is that, God and God alone is enough, no relationship can satisfy like the one I have with Christ! Not my husband, my kids, family or friends! I cannot find refuge or experience the level of refuge that the Spirit floods over me! Nothing can come close! Praise God that we, as believers have this ……… I have no idea what I would do without my Savior and His ever-present arms around me! Psalm 27, 22 & 20 are all great for encouragement! God Bless!
