GMC TV, America’s favorite channel for uplifting family entertainment, announced today that its “Touched by an Angel” premiere marathon (Sept. 15-16) generated the highest weekend ratings in the network’s history in households, W25-54 and A25-54 (source 1).
Last week’s marathon peaked on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 10 p.m. ET with 0.5 HH rating. For the weekend, “Touched by an Angel” reached more than 2.8 million viewers (source 2). The series premiered as a part of GMC’s “Calling All Angels” September programming stunt which featured the hit song with the same name by “Train” and runs of the popular series “7th Heaven.”
Following its marathon premiere on GMC TV, “Touched by an Angel” now airs weekdays at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m ET.
“Touched by an Angel” first ran from 1994 to 2003 and was a top rated series throughout its broadcast run. The series stars Roma Downey as an angel named Monica, and Della Reese as her supervisor Tess.
