The Gospel Music Association Announces Special Awards Winners
The Gospel Music Association (GMA) announced the recipients of its prestigious GMA Special Awards today, according to John W. Styll, president of the GMA. The recipients will be honored at the annual Monday Morning Live membership meeting which kicks off GMA Week 2004 on Monday, April 26 at 7:30 a.m. at the Renaissance Hotel in Nashville. Compassion International Sponsors GMA Music Awards
Compassion International, one of the world’s largest child development agencies, is taking its relationship with the Christian music industry to the next level by sponsoring the 35th annual Gospel Music Association (GMA) Music Awards (previously known as the Dove Awards). 4/19/4 GMA Rock Nite Showcase
The National Association of Christian Rock Radio, Absolute
Records, and Pavilion Management Consultants will host the Rock Nite Showcase
during the upcoming GMA Gospel Music Week. The event is being held Sunday April
25th from 6:30-11:30 PM at Graham Central Station, 128 2nd Ave. N. in downtown
Nashville. The concert is open to the public, with admission free to anyone
with a GMA badge, and $8 at the door for all others. Full story at:

4/8/4 GMA Names Dove Hosts
Former NFL great and current CBS Sports personality Deion Sanders and gospel music sensation Yolanda Adams will serve as the hosts for the Gospel Music Association’s (GMA) 35th Annual Music Awards on April 28th in Nashville, John Styll, president of the GMA and executive producer of the awards show, announced today. UPN has also been announced as the award show’s national broadcast outlet. UPN will televise the music show, on May 28th at 8:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT. Full story at GMA Names Dove Hosts

3/29/4 GMA Announces Dove Awards Venue Changed, New Seminar on “The Passion”
The Gospel Music Association has announced that the 2004 Dove Awards venue has been changed to Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. The April 28 event moved to free up the Gaylord Entertainment Center for a possible second-round NHL playoff game by the Nashville Predators, who may make the hockey post-season for the first time this year. Already-purchased tickets will be automatically transferred.
GMA also announced it’s adding a new seminar, “An Inside Look at the Marketing of ‘The Passion of the Christ,’” to the GMA Week Industry track. Fuzebox Media execs will examine the film’s hugely successful grass-roots marketing campaign. The seminar on Monday, April 26, 3:30 p.m. is open to all GMA attendees.
